The body of a man with mental disabilities who wandered away from an assisted living facility in Mauston more than two years ago has been found in Juneau County, authorities said Wednesday The skeletal remains of Robin Litkea were found by two people walking along the Lemonweir River in the Town of Lemonweir on Sunday afternoon, the Juneau County Sheriff’s Department said. Investigators from the State Crime Lab in Madison made positive identification of the remains through dental records, and the cause of death is still under investigation, the department said. Litkea, then 51, who authorities said had the mental capacity of a 6-year-old, was last seen July 28, 2001, in front of Little Pine Valley, a community-based residential facility licensed to take up to eight residents. The facility was cited about a month later and fined $3,000 for failing to provide 24-hour supervision to Litkea, who had a history of walking away from the facility. More : jsonline.com |
