The relief spilled out of the young sexual-assault victim as her attacker was led away to prison today. “I’m just happy to get on with my life,” said the 20-year-old woman, whose identity is protected by court order. “I can go back to school. I can go back to going out with my friends.” “I have closure knowing I don’t have to wake up and go to court in a week. It’s done.” Stuart Gee, 35, the man who attacked her on a Byron street 13 months ago and carried her into a parkette where he sexually assaulted her, was sent to a federal prison for five years. The sentence handed down by Ontario Court Justice Kathleen McGowan was six years, with a year credit given on a two-for-one basis for the six months Gee has spent in pre-sentence custody.
