Kobe Bryant Is Arrested on a Charge of Felony Sexual Assault

Kobe Bryant, the Los Angeles Lakers’ All-Star guard, turned himself in to the police Friday and posted a $25,000 bond on a felony count of sexual assault, the Eagle County sheriff’s office said today. Bryant, 24, was released the same day. The sheriff’s office said an arrest warrant was issued after deputies investigated a woman’s claims of sexual misconduct by Bryant. The claims were made Tuesday, a day after the woman said she was assaulted in a hotel in the Edwards area of Eagle County, near Vail. After interviews and a review of the physical evidence, investigators met with representatives for District Attorney Mark Hurlbert and concluded that they had enough evidence for the felony sexual assault charge, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
