Aide Goes to Court on Charge; Carolina Commons, State Found no Evidence Of Abuse

A nursing home aide is scheduled to go to court Monday on a charge she hit a bedridden resident. Tammie Theresia Kelly, a nursing aide at Carolina Commons Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center on West Meadowview Road, is charged with simple assault, accused of twice hitting Eula Walker, 79. Eula Walker’s daughter, Frances Pendleton of Greensboro, swore out a warrant against Kelly on Dec. 12, the night Walker alleges she was struck. Kelly, 39, has pleaded not guilty. She declined to comment except to say that she is “very confident” she will be cleared of the charge. Carolina Commons investigated the incident and determined no abuse occurred.
