4 Charged With Sexual Assault At University of Massachusetts

Three members of the hockey team at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth have been charged with assault and a fourth has been charged with rape and sodomy after a 22-year-old college student accused them of attacking her at an apartment on Thursday. The woman said the four and another man for whom the police are searching lined up outside a bathroom, where she was hiding from their grabs and suggestive comments. When she opened the door, four of the men sexually assaulted her before the fifth man raped and sodomized her, the campus police said. The incident has divided the campus of 5,500 students, who are finishing their work for the semester. Classes ended on Friday. Friends of the athletes said the woman had consented to have sex with all five after spending the afternoon drinking and watching a pornographic video in their apartment. More : query.nytimes.com |
