2 Rutgers Students Held in Sexual Assault

While his roommate watched, a Rutgers University student sexually attacked a female friend who was “half asleep, if not completely asleep” from drinking, the Middlesex County Prosecutor, Robert W. Gluck, has charged. The student, Mark Nelson, 23, the son of a Rutgers assistant football coach, was charged with aggravated sexual assault. His roommate, Edward McGroarty, 20, was charged with conspiracy to commit a sexual assault. The two men, who had also been drinking, went to several parties on Friday night into Saturday morning with the 19-year-old woman, Mr. Gluck said on Tuesday.
